Rate: £24,400 - £29,100 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Start Date: ASAP – Aug/Sept 2024
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours, 10pm – 8:15am
Our client, a national and respected Children's Charity, is looking to recruit a Waking Night Support Worker to work in one of their Family Assessment Centres in Leicestershire.
Responsibilities
* Support vulnerable families through parental assessments, offering guidance and practical and emotional support.
* Work with parents with a range of needs including moderate to high learning disabilities, mental health and substance misuse, trauma and those who have experienced abuse (including domestic violence, sexual assault and exploitation).
* Be based with 3 families in self-contained flats within the Family Assessment Centre and work with the families for a period of 12–14 weeks.
* Support families with their parenting capacity and capability while colleagues from Leicestershire County Council carry out parenting assessments.
* Create a safe, homely and positive environment to give these families the best chance to succeed.
Essential Requirements
* Must hold the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare OR be willing to achieve this within the required timeframe.
* Relevant experience working with children and young people in a children’s home setting.
* Flexibility to commit to shift work, including weekends and bank holidays.
* Strong working knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
