About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as the
General Manager of our Data Business Unit
, with a primary focus on developing, commercializing, and scaling data-driven products and services tailored to the
global air cargo industry
. This role will be responsible for defining the unit's strategy, driving revenue growth, overseeing product innovation, and ensuring strong relationships with cargo carriers, freight forwarders, and ecosystem partners.
The ideal candidate combines commercial acumen with a deep understanding of data products and the cargo/aviation sector, with a proven track record of scaling business units or product lines.
Responsibilities
Business Leadership & Strategy
* Define and execute the strategic vision for the Data Business Unit, aligning with overall company goals.
* Own P&L responsibility, driving sustainable growth and profitability.
* Identify new market opportunities and business models for commercial cargo data products.
Commercial Growth
* Lead go-to-market strategies for data products targeting airlines, cargo carriers, freight forwarders, shippers, and logistics service providers.
* Develop strategic customer relationships with senior executives, ensuring adoption and expansion of data solutions.
* Negotiate major contracts and partnerships with key industry stakeholders.
Product Innovation & Development
* Collaborate with product, data science, and engineering teams to shape innovative offerings that address cargo yield management, network optimization, fleet planning, and digital cargo operations.
* Ensure data products deliver measurable value in areas such as pricing, capacity planning, supply chain efficiency, and customer visibility.
* Anticipate industry trends and integrate emerging technologies (AI/ML, predictive analytics, real-time data sharing).
Team & Culture
* Build, lead, and inspire a cross-functional team of commercial, product, and analytics professionals.
* Foster a high-performance culture centered on innovation, accountability, and customer value delivery.
* Drive collaboration across sales, product, marketing, and operations functions.
Industry Engagement
* Represent the company at cargo, aviation, and logistics conferences and forums.
* Serve as a thought leader on the role of data in shaping the future of air cargo.
Qualifications
* 12+ years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in data-driven businesses, ideally within the cargo, logistics, or aviation industries.
* Strong track record of managing P&L, scaling revenue, and leading business growth.
* Demonstrated success in selling and commercializing data/analytics products to enterprise customers.
* Deep understanding of air cargo industry dynamics (yield management, operations, digitalization, or distribution preferred).
* Strong network across air cargo carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics industry executives is highly desirable.
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
* Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
