About The Role
Selwood are seeking a highly motivated Credit Controller to join our team based at our head office in Chandlers Ford, Hampshire.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to be part of a successful team dedicated to converting sales into cash or liquid resources. You will work closely with our 27 Hire Branches across the UK and collaborate with internal departments. As part of a forward-thinking team, you will have the opportunity to innovate and implement new ideas within the role.
Main responsibilities:
* Maintain proactive contact with customers via phone and email to obtain payment by the due date, ensuring adherence to credit limits and conducting reviews.
* Promptly identify, record, and follow up on customer queries with internal colleagues to resolve issues efficiently.
* Keep accounts fully up to date, perform reconciliations, and conduct regular housekeeping.
* Monitor contracts, ensure credit status compliance, and assess risk through credit reference agencies.
* Drive down aged debt and improve overall DSO figures.
* Produce debtors reports and present results as scheduled.
* Review and release contracts on hold promptly.
* Assist with sales administration and support other credit control team members.
Qualifications & Skills:
Essential:
* Good written and verbal communication and customer service skills
* Experience in Credit Control
* Strong attention to detail
* Self-motivated
* Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
* Logical and thorough problem-solving approach
* Proficient in MS Office, with intermediate Excel skills
* Team-oriented mindset
Preferred:
* Hands-on accounting experience in accounts receivable
