An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Advanced Therapies Clinical Nurse Specialist to join an established Inflammatory Bowel Disease team at Bradford Royal Infirmary. This is a full-time permanent position that will suit a dynamic and motivated nurse with an interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).
The post-holder will work closely as a proactive member of the wider multi-disciplinary team to provide a responsive and supportive service to IBD patients requiring treatment with biologic / advanced therapies. This includes inpatient and outpatient support, assessment, counselling and consenting of patients for the commencement of IBD therapies and initiating treatments. They will be responsible for advanced therapy nurse led clinics, drug monitoring/screening, patient reviews and prescription management. Clinics may be face to face or over the telephone and incorporate the use of agreed protocols and clinical/professional guidelines.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate should possess excellent decision making and clinical assessment skills, excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering holistic, individualised evidence-based patient care. They will work autonomously as a specialist nurse with the ability to prioritise and manage their workload.
The successful applicant should have significant post registration experience, including experience of working within a relevant clinical speciality. They must be confident in delivering educational sessions to both patients, their families and other health care professionals. They will be supported through clinical supervision, training and self-directed learning to develop further knowledge and skills to support people who have IBD.
