Overview
We are looking for a dynamic, proactive, experienced clinician to join our friendly team in Bronglais General Hospital, Aberystwyth. The A&E Department provides emergency services to Ceredigion, parts of South Gwynedd, North-West Powys and Pembrokeshire, with seasonal surges due to student and tourist populations. Currently there are approximately 25,000 attendances per annum, with anticipated growth. All patient activity is seen, triaged, and initial treatment and stabilisation commence in the A&E area. After assessment, patients are transferred to the CDU for ongoing monitoring or admitted to an inpatient acute bed, or discharged. All minors are managed in the A&E department. Patients are managed according to clear pathways based on the streams of minor and major treatment needs. This is a busy acute hospital. The successful candidate will work in close conjunction with other consultant physicians in the hospital and the community.
