We are looking for a talented Analyst to join the Workforce Planning & Information team. The role will report to the Principal Data Analyst in Workforce Information and work closely with the Workforce Planning, Training & Appraisal, and ESR Self Service teams.
As an Analyst within Workforce Information, you will be part of a crucial function within the organisation: bringing together expertise in workforce data, data transformation and analysis, and data visualisation and reporting. This is an exciting opportunity to use data to create evidence and analysis that underpin high-impact initiatives across the trust.
The role follows a typical 9:00-17:00 pattern, Monday to Friday. It is a hybrid role, with expected onsite presence of up to three days per week. The office is located at Gloucestershire Hospital, a short walk from the train station. During your induction, you should anticipate more time on site.
This highly collaborative role involves working closely with colleagues in Workforce Planning & Information, People & Organisational Development, and across the wider trust. Key responsibilities include:
1. Administer ESR and ensure alignment with workforce information across systems.
2. Produce detailed, time-critical reports for weekly, monthly, and annual cycles.
3. Respond to ad-hoc inquiries, create bespoke data extracts, and provide workforce expertise.
4. Develop and improve data integration processes to combine complex datasets.
5. Analyze workforce data trends and themes using qualitative and quantitative techniques, including descriptive statistics, trend analysis, and statistical process control.
6. Enhance data accuracy, quality, security, governance, and documentation.
Gloucestershire Hospitals provide acute hospital services in Gloucester and Cheltenham, and maternity services in Stroud. With over 9,000 employees, we are one of the largest NHS Trusts in the South West. We are a data-rich organisation, with extensive workforce data from ESR, recruitment, rostering, and finance.
