My client is a well-established engineering consultancy who is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its building services team. The role would suit an engineer who is confident working independently while operating as part of a collaborative team.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering mechanical building services design across a range of projects. The company is looking for someone who can be trusted with projects, manage their workload, and drive designs forward with minimal supervision.
Key responsibilities include:
Mechanical design of building services systems including HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation, and domestic water services
Producing calculations, specifications, reports, and technical drawings
Managing and delivering projects or project packages from concept through to completion
Liaising with clients, architects, and other design team members
Attending design meetings and site visits where required
Ensuring designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and best practice
Coordinating with electrical and other disciplines to ensure integrated design delivery
Requirements
Experience in mechanical building services design
Ability to run projects or work packages independently
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and building services design principles
Experience with industry software such as AutoCAD, Revit, IES, Hevacomp, or similar
Good communication and coordination skills
Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
