About the role - Vehicle Technician/Inspector

Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey in vehicle maintenance and make a meaningful impact in our community? Then this Technician/Inspector role at our Weston‑Super‑Mare depot could be the job for you!
For helping keep our fleet on the road, you'll earn a good hourly pay rate and great rewards & benefits (see below), we'll also provide your overalls and the basic tools and equipment needed for you to be successful in your role.
This will be a multiskilled role covering all technician duties and also undertaking vehicle inspections on a daily basis (full training will be provided if you are not experienced in vehicle inspection).
Key responsibilities
* Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement
* Diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used
* Carry out vehicle road testing where necessary to identify specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair
* To fully comply with all HSE legislation along with Group Policies
* To fully comply with all relevant Standard Operating Procedures
* Maintain and develop technical skills as required
* Providing detailed inspection reports and advice on necessary vehicle repairs
* Performing thorough inspections within company processes
Location: Weston‑Super‑Mare
Working Hours: 39 hours per week, 5 days over 7 on a rotating shift pattern of early and lates
Salary: £20.92 per hour + weekend premium if you work any shifts over a weekend + £3,000 new recruit Joining Bonus!*
*Joining Bonus - terms apply Available to new team members joining us for the first time or returning to us after more than 12 months
About You
* Do you have a minimum Level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent (i.e. City & Guilds Level 1&2)? Preferably in PSV or HGV engineering however we can consider candidates from a broader automotive background with a solid skill set
* Do you have the ability to multi-skill within an engineering environment?
* A valid UK driving licence would be beneficial
* A PCV licence is desirable, ability to obtain PCV licence is essential
* Do you have Right to Work in the UK?
