My client, a leading engineering company based close to Wokingham are looking to recruit a part-time Van Driver. Please note that this is working 2 days per week Tuesday and Thursday. There is no flexibility on these days due to operational requirements.
this role will be for approximately 6-8 weeks as cover. Candidates must be available to start w/c 09/03/2026
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Driving: Ensuring UK wide timely collection and delivery in line with logistics route, and safest way possible – normally 4-5 drops per day in or around the midlands area.
* Provide customer pick up & drop off to plant or in line with logistic route
* Work on initiative
* Always maintain good customer service / excellent telephone manner as you will be speaking to customers to arrange deliveries.
* Keep accurate records of mileage.
* Complete a weekly van check list to ensure vehicle is ready for use.
* Ensure regular feedback to Operations with customer information.
* Handling of Product (once training received). Products are up to 15kg.
* Have strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Have good knowledge of quality procedures to maintain Company quality standards.
Normal work location is the company workshop when not travelling.
YOU MUST:
* Be smart, clean and presentable appearance at all times
* Be able to follow job related instructions and to perform other duties as requested
* Adhere to company Health and Safety rules and regulations
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
* Full, clean driving licence.
* Previous driving experience, 3 years or more would be advantageous.
* Strong interpersonal skills (communication at all levels).
* Can do attitude with a positive and optimistic outlook.
* Computer literate: Able to use Microsoft Office XP or later (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) to record and look up data.
Hours of work are 07.00 – 15.00 Tuesdays and Thursdays and the hourly rate is £13.38 per hour.
