About the Role
As an HV / LV Cable Jointer, you'll be working directly on the electricity network, carrying out jointing, cabling and excavation works across HV and LV systems. This is a hands-on role combining planned works with reactive response, supporting customers when they need it most.
You'll work outdoors year-round, be part of an on-call standby rota, and act as a key representative of the business on site. For the right person, this role offers strong earning potential, clear progression and further authorisations as you develop.
The key requirements for this HV / LV Cable Jointer role are:
1. Carry out HV and LV jointing, cabling and excavation works on the distribution network
2. Respond to both planned works and emergency call-outs
3. Maintain the safety of yourself, colleagues and the public at all times
4. Work under standby arrangements and attend sites at short notice during fault or storm events
5. Deliver high standards of customer service while representing the business on site
6. Support a strong safety-first culture across all activities
Experience required for this HV / LV Cable Jointer role are:
7. Previous experience working as a Cable Jointer
8. DNO experience in the UK or overseas
9. Recognised jointing qualifications in LV, HV, 11kV or 33kV
10. Proven experience working on electrical plant and equipment up to 11kV
11. Strong HV and LV electrical knowledge
12. Experience excavating joint holes using hand tools
13. Experience using a mini excavator, or willingness to be trained
14. Flexible approach to standby and emergency response duties
15. Full UK driving licence
