About the Head of Care role
Reporting to the Director of Care, the Head of Care will play a critical role in delivering our mission of enabling autistic young people with complex needs to live healthy, happy, and more independent lives. As a joint Registered Manager with Ofsted, you will provide strategic leadership across our residential services and ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care.
You’ll manage a team of Care Managers and work collaboratively with other departments to implement our core learning programmes – Healthiness, Positive Behaviour Support, and Keeping Me Safe – across all residential homes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and inspire a team of Care Managers and residential staff, ensuring exceptional outcomes for young people.
* Oversee the implementation of our learning programmes and ensure measurable progress in young people’s development.
* Uphold the highest safeguarding standards as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
* Lead Ofsted inspections and ensure full compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations.
* Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to maintain and enhance the quality of care.
* Promote our autism approach, the Prior Approach, across your teams, embedding our unique autism strategies into everyday practice.
* Maintain a culture of safety, development, and excellence across all residential homes.
What we’re looking for
Essential
* Proven experience in providing care and learning for young people with autism and complex needs.
* Experience in managing and developing diverse teams within residential settings.
* Diploma Level 5 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), or currently working towards it.
* Extensive safeguarding knowledge and experience.
* Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
* A deep commitment to the rights, wellbeing, and development of young people.
