CONSULTANT IN CHILD & ADOLESCENT PSYCHIATRY

Responsibilities
* Applicants invited to apply for the post of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist providing 10 sessions for East Renfrewshire CAMHS as part of the South of Glasgow - East Renfrewshire psychiatry hub. The post holder will work in a community multi-disciplinary Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team based in Barrhead Health Centre, 213 Main Street, Barrhead G78-1SA.
* Provide psychiatric support and leadership in the community CAMHS team, supported by two other Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist colleagues from the South Glasgow CAMHS team, covering East Renfrewshire.
* Operate within a network of eight locality-based tier 3 CAMHS teams, collaborating with specialist tier 4 CAMHS teams across NHSGGC.
* Work within CAMHS in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, contributing to outpatient and inpatient care for children, young people and families with mental health disorders.
* There are opportunities to pursue special clinical interests and gain experience across clinical service areas including Learning Disability, Forensic CAMHS, Eating Disorder and Complex Trauma/LACC services.
Qualifications & Experience
* Full GMC registration and a license to practice. For UK-trained candidates, evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR), or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from date of interview. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
* Experience of working in tier 3 or 4 child and adolescent psychiatry services is essential.
* Must be registered as an Approved Medical Practitioner under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2023 or agree to undertake required training as a condition of appointment.

* Location: Barrhead Health Centre, 213 Main Street, Barrhead, G78-1SA (East Renfrewshire).
* Contract: Full-time, permanent. The post is 40 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday. Applicants are welcome to apply for less than full-time.
