Are you passionate about improving user experience and driving innovation in research services?
The UK Data Archive at the University of Essex is looking for an Engagement Officer on the SOCRATES Project, an externally funded initiative focused on evaluating cutting-edge tools for secure research environments.
You will lead the coordination, delivery, and analysis of a user engagement programme that supports the evaluation of the Semi-Automated Checking of Research Outputs (SACRO) tool and its alignment with the Standard Architecture for Trusted Research Environments (SATRE) framework.
Working closely with the Data Access Services Manager and wider teams, you will design inclusive and accessible engagement mechanisms, gather and analyse stakeholder feedback, and contribute to service improvements that enhance the user experience across the UK Data Service.
• Deliver a comprehensive user engagement programme for SACRO and SATRE evaluation.
• Develop a suite of inclusive engagement formats (online and face-to-face).
• Implement and analyse stakeholder feedback mechanisms.
• Explore the needs of diverse user groups, including future customers.
• Support wider UKDS user experience initiatives through insights and analysis.
You will bring experience in user engagement, stakeholder consultation, and feedback analysis, with a strong commitment to accessibility and service innovation. You will be a confident communicator, able to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners.
