Course Summary
This programme is for engineers working at operational level who are providing technical support for other engineers within their organisation. The standard covers a broad range of engineering activity such as developing, producing and testing new or existing products, financial planning and budgeting, ensuring safe working practices, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, reporting and resolving manufacturing problems.
The learner will be responsible for the quality, safety and delivery of the manufactured product or service, meeting timescales within the agreed cost.
The qualification is formed of mandatory and optional units. The mandatory units cover core competencies whilst the optional units allow learners to choose from a variety of areas to tailor the qualification to their needs, interests and to reflect the context of their work.

This Apprenticeship is suitable for learners that are looking at progressing their career in Engineering. This Apprenticeship combines practical workplace experience with the theoretical learning to develop the skills and knowledge you need to be successful.
Entry requirements
A level 3 Apprenticeship in Engineering or equivalent experience within an engineering environment. A supervisory engineering role with the opportunity to perform the duties described within the standard. A Level Maths or equivalent.
GCSE Grade 4 or above in English and 1 other subject or equivalent. Initial Assessment on application.
Remember, an apprenticeship is a job so the hiring employer may have additional criteria that will have to be met alongside CRC’s entry criteria.

This Apprenticeship is designed to provide you with the required skills to undertake the role. Once you have completed this programme you may have the opportunity to progress onto further development or take on additional responsibilities with your Employer.
The successful completion of this course could lead to an HND or a Degree in Engineering.

Once you have secured an apprenticeship job with an employer you will then be enrolled on the programme with the College.
It is recommended that you also apply for a full-time course as a back up just in case you are not able to source a suitable job in time for September.
