Permanent. £40,000 – £50,000 per annum. Chelmsford, Essex. On-site.
This is a hands‑on, production‑focused role for a CNC Programmer who can independently program, set up, and run 5‑axis milling operations, producing aerospace‑grade components from day one.
This is a shop‑floor role first, you'll be programming, proving out toolpaths, and machining precision parts, with a focus on efficiency, quality, and problem‑solving.
Key Responsibilities
* Independently program 5‑axis milling machines for aerospace and high‑precision components
* Set up jobs, select tooling, fixtures, speeds, and feeds
* Prove out programs and troubleshoot machining issues on the shop floor
* Maintain high‑quality standards with micron‑level tolerances
* Improve processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Must Have
* Strong hands‑on experience programming 5‑axis milling machines (DMG MORI, Hermle, or equivalent)
* Confident in independently setting up and running jobs
* Solid understanding of metrology, GD&T, and high‑precision machining
Nice To Have
* Offline programming experience (NX, Mastercam, Fusion 360)
* Previous experience with aerospace or highly precise components
