Duties
* Oversee and perform high-standard carpentry and joinery work as directed by project requirements.
* Assign tasks to a small team of workshop staff, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
* Monitor and maintain quality standards by inspecting wood and finished products.
* Interpret and work from drawings.
* Ensure proper maintenance and care of all company tools and equipment.
* Lead the assembly and installation of furniture, including occasional offsite installations.
* Develop and implement improved working practices to enhance productivity, safety, and quality.
* Manage team performance, providing guidance, training, and feedback to ensure high standards.
* Uphold and enforce Health & Safety requirements in the workshop and on-site.
* Collaborate with other departments to align production with business goals.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a skilled joiner with expertise in furniture assembly and production.
* Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience, with the ability to manage a small team effectively.
* Keen eye for detail, dexterity, and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
* Proficient in using hand tools and workshop equipment.
* Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations in a workshop and on-site environment.
* Physically capable of lifting heavy items and performing demanding tasks.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Strong teamwork, communication, and leadership skills.
* Positive attitude, proactive problem-solving, and dedication to quality craftsmanship.
Benefits and Package:
* Hours: 42.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, with negotiable start and finish times.
