Strong track record of leading testing activities across multiple teams from initial requirements through to live service Proven technical leadership capability including test design, reporting and defect management Proficient in modern programming languages and applying testing best practices Ability to design and maintain effective reliable automated test frameworks Experience working in agile teams, influencing others, and supporting CI/CD and shift-left approaches Understanding and experience of non-functional testing, including performance, security, and accessibility You and your role As a Senior Test Engineer you will help us to embed quality and user-focus in everything we develop. You'll shape and deliver test automation strategies that ensure our services remain secure stable and effective for millions of users. As an trusted senior practitioner, you'll provide leadership and guidance to Test Engineers across multiple teams helping to build capability and set technical direction. From developing automation frameworks to integrating testing within CI/CD pipelines your work will support faster feedback and continuous improvement. Collaboration is key to this role. You'll work closely with engineers, architects and product teams to challenge existing approaches and identify opportunities to improve. Your work will help enhance accessibility, strengthen security and optimise service performance. You'll also contribute to the wider testing community by sharing knowledge, mentoring colleagues and supporting recruitment and capability growth. Details. Wages. Perks. Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you'll spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face to face in a hub. Pay: Pay for this role is from £57,946 to £78,205. The maximum salary for the grade is £68,205, however a Digital Allowance of up to £10,000 per annum subject to our assessment of your capability at interview Pension: You'll get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions of 28.97%, worth up to £19,759 per year.
