4 months contract with a local authority
Job Purpose
* To deliver procurement operations and activities such as tenders, mini-competitions via frameworks, etc. Supporting the delivery of savings and efficiencies, ensuring that all contracts awarded are recorded on the Contract Register and stored electronically. Supporting the delivery of the Forward Procurement Plan and ensuring that all procurement activity has a Procurement Plan and delivers best value for the residents of the borough. Learning and supporting the delivery of innovative procurement procedures.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
* Support the delivery of procurement operations for Directorates.
* Understand the departmental and corporate procurement team KPIs, service level objectives, managing own performance, supporting continuous improvement of the service, and delivering and monitoring customer satisfaction.
* Understand the procurement strategy and ensure contracts are procured and delivered within available resources and timescales.
* Work with the Head of Procurement and Procurement Business Partners to advise on the most appropriate procurement strategy for specific contracts and the development of appropriate contract documentation.
* Understand national procurement frameworks and consider their suitability to deliver best value.
* Develop own professional skills, practice continuous professional development.
* Ensure compliance with Council and national procurement regulations and directives (as relevant), providing training and support to other Council Officers.
Essential Experience Required
* Proven experience with delivery of innovative procurement procedures is essential.
Essential Qualification Required
* Education/qualification in the related field is essential.
