The HR Advisor will support OD & HR initiatives that drive organisational improvement. The postholder will embody the OD&HR Services core purpose, which is to 'enable colleagues to be the best they can be, and to deliver excellent services to our customers'.
Opportunity
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a highly capable HR Advisor to join our fast-paced, dynamic OD & HR team at Cheshire West and Chester Council on a fixed-term contract until August 2026. The role is for 30 hours per week, with the possibility of increasing to full-time (37 hours per week).
Responsibilities
* Provide professional advice to support Council Directorates on all aspects of HR and people management.
* Ensure employees are managed fairly and consistently.
* Support employee relations casework and manage your workload effectively.
* Demonstrate influencing and negotiation skills.
* Maintain a thorough understanding of up-to-date employment legislation and best practices in people management.
* Support the delivery of the 2025-2029 People Strategy, working collaboratively across the OD & HR service to enhance colleague experience and embed the ‘One Council’ approach.
