Head of Girls' PE – West London
A large and well-regarded secondary school in West London is seeking a Head of Girls' PE to join their team from September 2026.
This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced PE teacher to lead physical education provision across the school. The position is full time, with salary aligned to inner London MPS/UPS plus a TLR, depending on experience.
Responsibilities
* Lead and develop the Girls' PE curriculum, ensuring high-quality teaching and strong student outcomes across all key stages.
* Manage and support PE staff, providing coaching and professional development to enhance teaching practice.
* Promote participation and excellence in girls' sport, including extracurricular clubs and competitive fixtures.
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating environment that encourages all students to engage in physical activity.
* Monitor student progress and implement strategies to raise achievement and participation levels.
* Contribute to whole-school initiatives, promoting health, wellbeing, and teamwork.
Qualifications and Person Specification
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* A relevant degree in Physical Education or a related subject
* Proven experience teaching PE with strong subject knowledge
* Experience in leadership or a willingness to take on leadership responsibilities
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Passionate about promoting sport, health, and wellbeing among students
