Agency Support Worker – Children in Care (Emergency & Block Placements)

The Role
We're looking for flexible Agency Support Workers to cover emergency and block placements across Liverpool. You'll work across multiple sites and longer-term placements, supporting children with complex emotional, behavioural, and care needs. You'll also collaborate with our mental health partners to deliver the best possible care.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver child-centred support in line with care plans and safeguarding guidelines.
* Assist with daily living tasks, personal care, routines, and emotional support.
* Support children in managing challenging behaviours safely.
* Record and report observations and incidents accurately.
* Work closely with managers, colleagues, families, social workers, and mental health partners.
* Adapt to different care settings, emergency placements, and block bookings.
Requirements
* Minimum 3 years' experience as a support worker with children.
* Familiar with Ofsted regulations and requirements
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply) and registered on the update service.
* Mandatory training (or willingness to complete):
* Safeguarding Children Level 1 & 2
* First Aid
* Health & Safety
* Moving & Handling
* Medication Administration
* Fire Safety
* NVQ Level 2 (or higher) in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
* Flexibility to work emergency shifts, block bookings, evenings, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
