<div><h3>Job Description: HSE Advisor</h3><p><b>Location:</b> Cotes Park, Alfreton<br/><b>Company:</b> Diversey</p><h3>Job Purpose</h3><p>The HSE Advisor will support the site in maintaining high standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance, with a primary focus on conducting, reviewing, and improving Risk Assessments and COSHH Assessments across all operational areas. The role will ensure legal compliance, reduce workplace risks, and promote a proactive safety culture at the Cotes Park Alfreton site.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><h3>Risk Assessment Management</h3><ul><li>Lead the development, review, and implementation of suitable and sufficient Risk Assessments for all site activities.</li><li>Work closely with department managers and operational teams to identify hazards and implement effective control measures.</li><li>Ensure Risk Assessments are regularly reviewed following incidents, process changes, equipment changes, or legislative updates.</li><li>Maintain an accurate and up-to-date register of all site Risk Assessments.</li><li>Provide practical recommendations to eliminate or reduce risks using the hierarchy of controls.</li></ul><h3>COSHH Assessment Management</h3><ul><li>Conduct and maintain COSHH Assessments for all hazardous substances used, stored, or handled on site.</li><li>Review Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and verify compliance with storage, handling, PPE, and exposure control requirements.</li><li>Liaise with suppliers to obtain current chemical safety information and product documentation.</li><li>Support departments in identifying safer alternatives and reducing hazardous substance exposure.</li><li>Ensure appropriate signage, labelling, storage segregation, and emergency arrangements are in place.</li></ul><h3>Compliance and Assurance</h3><ul><li>Ensure compliance with UK HSE legislation including Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations, COSHH Regulations, and other applicable standards.</li><li>Participate in internal audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.</li><li>Track corrective actions and verify close-out of findings.</li><li>Support accident / incident investigations and root cause analysis where required.</li><li>Maintain accurate HSE records and documentation.</li></ul><p>Previous experience in an HSE Advisor or similar role within manufacturing, warehousing, chemical, or industrial environments.</p><p>Strong practical knowledge of Risk Assessment methodology and COSHH requirements.</p><p>Good understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation.</p><p>Experience reviewing SDS documentation and chemical management systems.</p><p>Excellent communication and influencing skills across all levels of the business.</p><p>Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.</p><p>Competent in Microsoft Office and HSE management systems.</p><p>NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum preferred).</p><p>IOSH Membership or equivalent desirable.</p><p>Relevant environmental qualification desirable.</p></div>
