Job summary
We have a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled, dynamic, and innovative physiotherapist to take on an exciting role within the established acute respiratory team at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals.
Using a flexible approach with excellent team working, you will be responsible for the delivery of holistic physiotherapy care working collaboratively with therapy colleagues and the wider MDT. You will need excellent organisational and communication skills, as well as a keen interest in service development.
You will need evidence of post graduate experience including previous experience working within the acute respiratory care setting, managing a range of respiratory conditions. This role will involve working across the various inpatient clinical areas including surgical and respiratory wards, and critical care and an opportunity to work across respiratory out-patient clinics.
This is an exciting time within our services, with the imminent move to The Midland Metropolitan University Hospital site bringing pathway redesign and investment which the successful applicant will help to shape.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will have sufficient knowledge, skill and experience to:
1. Formulate and deliver specialist programmes of physiotherapy care within the fields of acute respiratory care.
2. Directly deliver high quality and safe evidence-based therapy intervention
3. Support daily team operations to deliver high quality patient care and experience via a continuous quality improvement approach
4. Create a working environment that facilitates striving for excellence through staff learning and development
5. Develop a supportive and cohesive team-working environment
6. Support the therapy lead, team leads and colleagues at all levels in the development and implementation of service improvement initiatives
7. Work collaboratively as part of the trust wide or wider multi-professional team
Applicants must be prepared to participate in the Physiotherapy Out of Hours On-Call rota and 7 day working within the in-patient team.

Experience
Essential
11. Post graduate experience as Junior Physiotherapist in a rotational post. Experience must include working within respiratory in an acute hospital environment
12. Experience of working as part of a Physiotherapy team and the wider MDT
13. Experience of delegating to and supervising Physiotherapy/ Rehabilitation Assistants
14. Contribution to the clinical education of less experienced staff or undergraduate Physiotherapy students
15. Participation in emergency duties and 7 day service
