The role
As a Junior Engineer with Rendesco, you will assist with servicing, maintaining, and repairing heat pump systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The role involves diagnosing faults, optimising system performance, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. With the support and guidance of an experienced engineer, you’ll attend call outs, carry out apartment services and assist maintenance programmes to ensure all scheduled works are completed.
Responsibilities
* Maintenance & Repair: Conduct routine servicing, fault finding, repair and preventive maintenance of industrial, commercial and domestic ground and air source heat pumps.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in heat pump systems, plant rooms and associated equipment.
* Replace defective components and test system functionality.
* Customer Support & Reporting: Provide technical advice and support to customers.
* Complete service reports and documentation.
* Educate customers on system operation and energy efficiency.
* Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations.
* Handle refrigerants safely and in accordance with environmental guidelines.
* Stay updated on industry standards and best practices.
About You
* Plumbing experience
* Commercial / Industrial Ground Source and Air Source Heat Pump experience of installing, servicing or commissioning systems will be an advantage
* Fault finding and troubleshooting on heating systems
* An understanding of heating systems and associated pumps / valves and safety requirements
* A basic understanding of PLC control systems
* Electrical fault finding to board / component level would be advantageous
Personal Attributes
* Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential for this role as it involves liaising with members of the public.
* Good team player, comfortable with lone working as this role is a mobile role travelling to customer sites
Education
* G3 Unvented Certificate
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing, Heating or Refrigeration
