Supply SEN Teaching Assistant – Flexible Work Available

Pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (ad hoc basis)
Are you looking for flexible work that fits around your schedule? We are currently recruiting Supply SEN Teaching Assistants to support a Secondary Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Burnley on an ad hoc basis.

About the School & Students:
The school supports students aged 11–16 with a wide range of additional needs. These include Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. Pupils often require tailored support to access learning, develop communication skills, and manage their emotions. Some may also need help with personal care or mobility. The school provides a nurturing, inclusive environment where each student’s individual needs are supported through personalised learning plans.
Role Responsibilities:
* Provide in-class support to pupils with SEN
* Assist with learning activities and engagement
* Offer one-to-one or small group support
* Help manage behaviour positively and calmly
* Support students with personal care if needed
* Work closely with teachers and staff to adapt resources and strategies
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (desirable)
* A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A genuine interest in supporting students with additional needs
