Plant Manager - Manufacturing - Glasgow Area
Overview
An established and growing manufacturing company in the plastics and additive materials industry is looking for a Plant / Operations Manager to oversee its full site operations in the Glasgow area. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a strategic and hands-on role with full responsibility for Production, Maintenance, and Warehousing, as well as Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality compliance.
We’re looking for a motivated, commercially aware operations leader who can drive efficiency, build strong teams, and lead change in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage all site operations, including production, maintenance, and warehouse teams
* Ensure compliance with health & safety, environmental, and quality standards
* Drive operational excellence and implement continuous improvement initiatives
* Manage resources effectively to meet production targets and strategic goals
* Develop and monitor KPIs to track performance and identify areas for improvement
* Coach, mentor, and lead a team-focused culture
* Support strategic planning and site development in line with business goals
* Stay updated on industry trends and apply best practices in manufacturing
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in a manufacturing operations leadership role (e.g., Operations Manager, Plant Manager, Site Manager)
* Background in plastics, chemical, or process-based manufacturing - must
* Strong knowledge of HSE, quality, and environmental compliance
* Hands-on leadership style with excellent team development skills
* Commercial awareness and experience managing KPIs and cost controls
* Degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field
