You’ll be joining a respected local authority legal team that plays a vital role in supporting themunity. Your new role
As a senior lawyer, you will manage aplex caseload and provide high-quality legal advice on a wide range of matters. This includes drafting and negotiating contracts (including ICT and construction), advising on public procurement, PFI academy transfers, TUPE, waste management, and othermercial work. You will also supervise other lawyers, ensuring robusternance and supporting major local authority projects. This is an excellent opportunity to develop both technical expertise and leadership skills.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives and have a current practising certificate. Experience inmercial contracts and UK public procurement law is essential, along with knowledge in at least two of the following areas: localernment law and procedure,pany law/joint ventures, PPP/PFI/academy conversions, TUPE, subsidy law, intellectual property, or construction law. A positive, team-oriented approach and strong drafting skills are also key.
