Welding Inspector
Location: AWE Burghfield
Contract Type: Contract (Site-Based)
Duration: Initial 3-month contract with view to extension
Rate: £600 per day (all-in rate)
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Welding Inspector to support a major Mechanical & Electrical contractor delivering works on the AWE Burghfield site. This is a site-based role focused on ensuring welding activities meet required quality, safety, and compliance standards within a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect and verify welding activities in accordance with project specifications, codes, and standards
Review welding procedures (WPS), qualifications (WPQ), and associated documentation
Carry out visual inspections and coordinate NDT activities as required
Ensure compliance with quality plans, ITPs, and project QA/QC requirements
Produce accurate inspection reports and maintain quality records
Liaise with construction, QA, and engineering teams to resolve non-conformance's
Promote high standards of safety and quality on site at all times
Essential Requirements
CSWIP Welding Inspector certification
PCN / NDT qualifications (as applicable to the role)
Proven experience in welding inspection on large M&E or industrial projects
Strong understanding of welding codes, standards, and inspection techniques
Ability to work effectively in a highly regulated site environment
Desirable Experience & Qualifications
Previous experience working on AWE sites
Live SC or DV security clearance (preferred but not essential)
Candidates without clearance can be put through the clearance process

Competitive all-in day rate of £600
