Contract Type: Full-Time (35 hours per week)
Shift Pattern: Rotating shifts (including weekends and bank holidays as required)
About the Role:
Waterbeach Lodge Care Home is currently seeking a passionate and skilled Chef to join our friendly catering team on a full-time basis (35 hours per week) .
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, well-balanced meals that support the health and well-being of our residents. Your food will do more than nourish - it will provide comfort, enjoyment, and a sense of routine to those in our care.
You'll be part of a welcoming, supportive team committed to high standards in care and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare and serve high-quality meals that meet residents' dietary needs and preferences
Maintain stock levels and ensure kitchen is fully supplied
Uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards, ensuring full compliance with food safety regulations
Supervise kitchen assistants where required
Record temperatures and complete kitchen documentation in line with health and safety procedures
Create a positive dining experience for residents and visitors alike
What We're Looking For: A genuine passion for cooking and creating homely, nourishing meals
Experience working as a Chef, preferably in a care home, healthcare, or similar setting
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (required)
City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent in Professional Cookery (desirable)
Knowledge of special diets and texture-modified meals (an advantage)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
A caring, patient, and respectful attitude towards older people
Flexible approach to shift patterns and weekend working
