Job Title : Caretaker / Cleaner Location of work : Banstead Community Centre – The Horseshoe, Banstead SM7 2BQ Salary: £23,685 - £24,714 (Pro-rata £16,447-£17,162) Basis : 25 Hours per week, Permanent. Banstead Community Centre is looking for a dedicated Caretaker/Cleaner to join our friendly team. About the Role As a key member of the Banstead Community Centre team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the building and its surroundings are clean, tidy, and well-maintained. Your responsibilities will include: Cleaning and caretaking duties throughout the centre Setting up rooms for various bookings and events, often with quick turnaround times Assisting with general tasks to support the smooth running of the centre Always maintaining a high standard of hygiene and safety Additional hours may be required to provide cover or support during busy periods, including evenings and weekends, as agreed with your manager. A flexible approach and willingness to work extra hours when needed is essential to support the smooth running of the centre and its activities. Local Government Reorganisation Reigate and Banstead Borough Council is part of the government’s plans for Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) scheduled to take place in April 2027. This means the current two-tier system, where services are split between Surrey County Council and district and borough councils like Reigate, will be replaced with two unitary councils made up of East and West Surrey, which will handle all local services.
