Non-Emergency Patient Transport (NEPT) is a service made available for those who meet the eligibility criteria set by the Epsom and St Helier Hospitals Trust and transport commissioners.
Key Responsibilities
* Help patients out of their home into the ambulance (may involve lifting)
* Transport patients safely, comfortably and in good time to their appointment
* Return patients home and ensure they are settled before leaving
* Keep accurate records of journeys on the PDA and Daily Log Sheet
* Show kindness and respect to often worried patients and their relatives, including older people, physically disabled individuals, and people with mental health problems
* Maintain contact with the control room via PDA to receive work allocations and advice
* Perform vehicle checks (tyre pressure, oil, wash levels) and report defects to Fleet Team
* Ensure vehicle stocked with essential consumables and report missing stock
* Report untidy ambulances to Shift Manager
* Ensure vehicle is refueled and returned to base refueled at end of shift
* Work in line with all policies and procedures
* Wear correct issued uniform at all times following the BBO guidelines
* Sign out/in all equipment issued to assist with patient's conveyance
* Work alone or in a two-person team in an adapted ambulance or wheelchair accessible vehicle
Operational Requirements
Key requirement: valid, current Full (manual) UK driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points, held for at least 2 years.
Remuneration
£13.85 per hour (London Living Wage). This opportunity is NOT on Agenda For Change terms & conditions.
