About the The Role:
Sugarman Health and Wellbeing are currently looking for a Healthcare Assistant who can work nights and provide care and support to one of our wonderful service users. Our service user's needs includes PEG, Tracheostomy, Cerebral Palsy, Non-verbal communication and Nebuliser administration. You'll provide 1:1 support alongside providing the best care possible, within the Service User's own home environment.
Here at Sugarman Health and Wellbeing, we are looking for passionate, confident and caring candidates, who are willing to provide care that promotes independence and gives the client the best quality of life, whilst also building a special bond.
You would become an essential part of the existing care team in this fulfilling and rewarding role.
Theory and Practical training will be provided free of charge to ensure you have the correct skills and knowledge to support this service user's needs. This is an amazing opportunity to learn new skills and progress in your health and social care career. Practical clinical training will be delivered by one of our nurses so you can learn first-hand from their expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Respiratory care: Assisting with regular saline nebulisers and suction to keep the service user's airway clear.
Medication administration: Assistance with administration of medication via PEG and nebulised via tracheostomy.
Nutritional care: Providing all aspect of assistance with administration of PEG feed via pump and require administration of PEG fluids via a syringe.
Clinical observations: Providing basic vital signs observation - saturation and heart rate observations using a pulse oximeter. Temperature monitoring as required.
Personal care: Able to provide full assistance with personal hygiene and elimination.
Elimination: Providing assistance with personal hygiene and elimination.
Communication: To be able to demonstrate knowledge on how to communicate using non-verbal clues to communicate.
Requirements for the Role
We are looking for a patient, observant, and kind-hearted individual who is passionate about making a difference in a young person's life.
* A minimum of 6 months of professional UK Care experience is desirable, full training provided
* Paediatric or complex care experience is beneficial, but a willingness to learn is most important.
* Excellent communication skills and the patience to build a strong, understanding relationship with a non-verbal individual.
* The ability to follow detailed care plans and protocols meticulously.
* To provide the correct compliance documents, including an updated Right to Work and a valid DBS certificate (we can assist with a new application).
