Specialist Occupational Therapist at Hillingdon Manor School – Middlesex UB8 3HD. Permanent full‑time (37.5 hours per week, 8:30‑16:30 Monday to Friday). Salary up to £55,000 FTE, along with a £3,000 welcome bonus (paid in two instalments), £2,000 CPD training allowance and a comprehensive benefits package.
Location
Hillingdon Manor School is an independent specialist day school within the Options Autism brand, supporting students aged 11‑19.
The Role
As part of the in‑house clinical team, you will deliver bespoke occupational therapy assessment and intervention to pupils with developmental trauma, neurodivergence or SEMH needs. You will hold an OT caseload, work closely with the education team, contribute to staff training and consultation, and support the development of a person‑centred, safeguarding‑informed practice within an educational setting.
Essential Criteria
* BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy
* HCPC registered and RCOT member
* Relevant experience in LD, SEMH or neurodivergence settings
* Enhanced knowledge of OT theory and practical application
* Experience of multidisciplinary working, with some responsibility for service and team performance
* Experience of communicating with families, relatives and carers
* Experience working with autistic children and young people
* Experience in an education setting
* Strong communication, relationship, analytical and judgement skills
* Clear understanding of behaviour, communication, physical needs and other developmental needs impacting independence
* Up‑to‑date knowledge of neurodivergence, learning disability and trauma‑informed practice approaches
* Knowledge of legislation implications for clinical practice and professional management
* Good clinical reasoning and ability to express rationale confidently
* Engagement in quality improvement and enhanced service delivery
* Understanding of information governance, confidentiality and record‑keeping standards
* Ability to work collaboratively and support staff supervision
* Sound knowledge of assessment tools, intervention programmes and treatment planning across OT modalities
* Evidence of continuous professional development and self‑development
* Willingness to travel on company business
* Flexible, creative problem‑solving and able to work under pressure and to deadlines
Desirable
* 3+ years of OT practice
* Formal postgraduate study in Sensory Integration and/or developmental trauma and/or sensory attachment
