What's in it for you? £18.85 37 hours - 9am to 5pm (some flexibility required to maintain operational requirements) Temporary About your next employer As a member of the Facilities & Resources Team the postholder will be required to: Manage the day to day operations of a directly managed community centre(s), ensuring they are effectively staffed and are delivering services in a safe, clean and well maintained environment. Oversee the implementation of a varied programme of activities that promote increased usage of facilities whist meeting local community needs. Monitor and evaluate community centre provision and make recommendations for continuous improvement to the service and customer experience. What you'll do Manage and motivate Community Centre staff to effectively achieve operational budgets, goals and targets for community centres in accordance with the Council's Community Development strategy. Develop and implement a facility specific Community Centre Development plan outlining needs-based services that encourages increased footfall, promotes opportunities to work in partnership with local community / voluntary groups and is customer focused. Develop work rotas, authorise weekly timesheets and ensure duties are allocated and work carried out to the standards required in accordance with normal operating procedures. In conjunction with the Community Facilities & Resources Officer oversee the implementation of the computerised booking & information management system and be responsible for collating and presenting centre data as required as part of the team's facilities management reporting. Oversee the invoicing, cash handling, banking procedures and inventories, in accordance with the Council's accounting manual, and maintain adequate records for reporting and audit purposes. Assist the Community Facilities & Resources Officer in the annual review of community centre pricing and the review of booking processes, terms and conditions and normal operating procedures. To work across the Community Facilities & Resources team to actively promote and market centre programmes and initiatives and work with colleagues across the Council to actively promote centres as delivery platforms for other Council services. To assist the Community Facilities & Resources Officer to regularly review community centre targets and, if necessary, implement change to deal with any negative variances. Be responsible for ensuring compliance with agreed normal operating procedures and identifying, reporting and taking any necessary immediate action to deal with any facility maintenance issues. Ensure compliance with Council policies and procedures and operate within the highest standards of management and personal behaviour, which reflect the core values and behaviours of the organisation. Ensure the provision of high standards of customer care across all the services provided by the Unit and promote and manage the service effectively and communicate in a way, which enhances and promotes the public image and overall reputation of the Council. About you It is essential that applicants have a minimum of: QUALIFICATION Applicants must have a minimum of two A levels grades A-C, NVQ level three or equivalent EXPERIENCE Applicants must have a minimum of three years relevant experience working in commercial, community or leisure premises. Experience to include; Working with a diverse range of partners in developing community focused facilities. Overseeing the key components of facilities management. Managing budgets Managing Staff Developing and implementing needs-based programming. Where applicants do not hold the qualifications as outlined in 1 above, they must demonstrate a minimum five years' experience in point 2 above.
