The post holder is a senior member of the medical secretary team providing an expert administration service to the clinical specialty and its associated work streams. The role supports consultants, junior medical staff, and other health professionals with the creation of best practice processes, diary management, coordination of workload, and appointment and admission related information for patients and carers.
Main duties of the job
To provide a comprehensive, high‑quality medical secretarial and administrative service to the consultant, medical team, specialist nursing teams, and other health professionals. To coordinate and maintain arrangements to facilitate patients' progression along a defined pathway. To maintain the office organisation and monitor the workload related to the administration team.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
 * RSA 111 / NVQ 3 qualification or equivalent
 * ECDL qualification or equivalent
 * GCSE/O level Maths & English Grade C or above
 * Diploma in Office Administration or experience
 * Advanced knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets
Desirable criteria
 * Certificate in supervision or management or equivalent experience
 * Comprehensive knowledge of all office packages
 * Audio typing experience
