Job Overview
Working within a Regional Hearing Centre (RHC), you will support the effective administration of Tribunals business on a national scale. Your role involves undertaking complex case work and assessment activity to advance caseloads and remove barriers to timely case progression. You will work independently with a wider team, making informed decisions on processing appeals to enhance access to justice. Under the supervision of a Senior Legal Officer and the judiciary, you will exercise delegated judicial powers and liaise with key stakeholders and HMCTS colleagues.
Responsibilities
* Administer and manage complex case work and assessment activity to progress caseloads and remove barriers.
* Make case‑management decisions as part of delegated judicial powers.
* Process appeals, providing informed and impartial decision‑making.
* Coordinate with stakeholders and HMCTS colleagues to ensure effective administration of justice.
* Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with organisational procedures.
* Adhere to security and data protection requirements, including DBS checks.
Qualifications
* Law degree or equivalent technical experience.
* Evidence of transferable decision‑making aptitude within a structured framework.
* Experience working independently within a complex, regulatory environment.
* Basic DBS security check and willingness to undertake any additional required checks.
* Good communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
