Description Midday Assistant - Craneswater Junior School Portsmouth, Hampshire, United Kingdom Craneswater Junior School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Midday Assistants to work 5 hours per week. We are a ‘good’ school with well-behaved children and a very supportive staff in the heart of Southsea. Hours are 12.10 am – 13.10 pm Monday – Friday, term time only, 39 weeks Contract/Hours: 5 hours per week, term time only Salary Details: Band 1, FTE £24,413, pro-rata £2,937 Required Start Date: As soon as possible Closing Date: Ongoing Interview Date: to be advised This is a busy and varied role requiring the successful candidate to supervise pupils during the lunchtime period. Our team of lunchtime staff work together sharing different duties over the week. Duties include: Supervising and assisting children in the dinner hall to collect, eat and clear away their meals Supervising and engaging children in play activities on the playground Ensuring children play together positively and co-operatively with good behaviour Administering first aid, and During periods of ‘wet play’ engage children in suitable classroom activities, ensuring classroom behaviour expectations are upheld.
