Position Summary
The Distributed AI group in SAIC Cambridge is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to collaborate with research scientists and ML engineers. The role involves supporting research in embedded/distributed ML, communications, and robotics. Responsibilities include developing internal research tools, implementing research ideas, and transforming prototypes into demos and MVPs.
Role and Responsibilities
You will contribute to deploying embedded/distributed/mobile ML systems for research and applications in vision and language, with opportunities for publishing papers and patents. The role offers potential for cross-group collaboration and professional growth.
We seek a candidate with strong system design and architecture knowledge, familiar with various system layers and ML system operations. An analytical, data-driven approach is essential. We are looking for a versatile MLSys professional.
Skills and Qualifications
* MS or PhD in CS/EE or equivalent industry experience
* Experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX) and efficient ML techniques (quantization, pruning, sparsification)
* Experience deploying ML on embedded and mobile devices
* Experience with distributed and multi-GPU training
* Proficiency in Python, C/C++, and GNU Linux
* Teamwork experience
Additional skills that are a plus:
* Experience with system deployment and maintenance
* Knowledge of networking protocols and communication for distributed inference/training
* Experience with deploying computer vision in real-world settings
* Experience with large-scale NLP research and model fine-tuning
* Android OS and app development
* Robot Operating System (ROS)
