As a Junior Business Systems AI Engineer, you will assist in the end-to-end development of diverse AI applications and systems from identified use case requirements.
The Business Systems Solutions department is focused on delivering systems and solutions to the Business. The team utilises various technologies to provide custom-built solutions and implement third-party products and services. We support processes in driving effectiveness, efficiency, scalability and sustainability.
You will translate strategic visions into functional proof-of-concept AI applications and systems, implementing AI solutions using Python, JavaScript, and Cloud APIs.
You will work closely with stakeholders from across the wider business to ensure value-driven integration of AI systems and practices, utilising Prompt Engineering.
Responsibilities include:
1. Supporting the end-to-end development of AI models and solutions, seeking and identifying opportunities to enhance Business operations and efficiencies through AI capabilities.
2. Developing and enhancing Retrieval Augmented Generation capabilities within our portfolio of AI applications.
3. Formulating use cases in chatbot-style AI applications via innovative prompt engineering.
4. Collaborating with wider development and testing teams to effectively integrate AI solutions and features into pre-existing Business applications.
5. Translating strategic visions into functional proof-of-concept AI applications and systems.
6. Developing conceptual AI applications using Python, JavaScript, and cloud APIs.
7. Staying up to date with AI advancements and features of third-party products.
8. Creating, maintaining and updating technical documentation related to AI solutions and best practices for interaction and use of these systems.
9. Assisting in establishing and maintaining responsible AI policy and best practices and establishing a systematic process for reporting and tracking bugs within Language Model solutions.
10. Willing to learn and contribute to other technology stacks like .NET and React, hosting feedback and workshop sessions, and creating support tutorial documentation.

Preferred skills and experience:
* Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, AI, or related fields, or relevant professional experience.
* Demonstrated experience in developing innovative AI solutions.
* Proficiency in Python and JavaScript for developing AI applications.
* Familiarity with advanced Prompt Engineering techniques for LLM use cases, both user-facing and backend, utilizing structured outputs and vision techniques.
* Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
* Skills in front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks.
* Familiarity with Cloud-based AI tools and services such as Azure and Google Cloud.
* Strong understanding of Generative AI principles and the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
* Knowledge of Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing topics, including Large Language Models and Vector Indexing.
* Certifications like Azure AI Engineer Associate, AWS Certified AI Practitioner, or similar are desirable.
