Job Description
Data/AI Delivery Lead, Commercial
Based at Stockley Park, UK - 3 days a week in office
We are pleased to share that Gilead’s Stockley Park and Holborn offices are planning to come together at a new London headquarters at 1 Triton Square, NW1, from approximately Q2 2027. As part of our enterprise AI strategy to speed life-changing therapies to patients, we are seeking a Data/AI Delivery Lead to lead the technical development and delivery of AI/ML solutions across commercial operations. In this role, you will bridge the business needs of the Commercial organization with technical execution and manage data science solution teams composed of internal resources and key external partners. You will drive technical excellence in our tailored AI solutions through hands-on architecture decisions, code quality standards and advanced analytics methodologies, delivering measurable impact to commercial users from concept to scaled release.
This position will report to the Senior Director, Data/AI, Commercial and is based in the UK (hybrid-eligible).
Key Responsibilities
1. Own end-to-end delivery including timeline and technical quality of commercial AI use case solutions from ideation through production
2. Apply product-centric approach with clear ownership, roadmaps, and user adoption metrics
3. Oversee the development of scalable solutions using Databricks, AWS, and commercial enterprise platforms
4. Lead hybrid technical delivery teams, drawing on technical experts within and beyond the team
5. Manage sprint planning, backlog prioritization and release schedules, extending into continuous improvement as both needs and the solution landscape evolves
6. Facilitate technical problem-solving across commercial operations, customer engagement, and forecasting/planning domains
7. Ensure integration with existing data infrastructure and reusable components for common commercial patterns (e.g., customer and territory hierarchies, campaign measurement, forecasting and reporting frameworks)
8. Shape technical standards for commercial data models and automation workflows
9. Maintain technical documentation and runbooks for commercial data pipelines
10. Track delivery metrics: cost reduction targets, process automation rates, weekly usage adoption
11. Manage vendor relationships and outsourced delivery with co-source providers
12. Monitor product performance & drive continuous improvement towards quantifiable targets
Key Skills & Experiences
13. Bachelor’s or higher degree in data or computer science, and 8+ years of relevant experience (BA/BS)/6+ years relevant experience (MA/MS/MBA)
14. Significant experience leading technical delivery in an agile environment. Fluent with Agile/Scrum methodology and mindsets
15. Experience as a lead data engineer, solution architect or data scientist. Hands-on, full-stack experience with operations/ continuous improvement in addition to design and implementation preferred
16. Experience working with large (15+) dispersed development teams
17. Product-centric mindset
18. Strong understanding of AI architectures
19. Fluency with master data elements and core processes in commercial domains preferred. Experience with CRM (e.g., Salesforce), data platforms, and enterprise process and data flows a plus.
20. Strong team leadership skills; able to lead and influence without authority. Excellent communications and stakeholder management skills.
