Junior Defect Manager (1 Year Fixed Term Contract)

We are the Information Intelligence Group (IIG) of CACI UK, a specialist technical consultancy providing new bespoke solutions to solve complex operational problems.
With our HQ based in Bristol and additional offices across the UK, we offer a hybrid approach to work where you choose how much or how little you work from an office with regular trips to customer locations (typically along the M4 Corridor & London).
The Opportunity:
Working for IdentityE2E (part of CACI IIG), the Junior QA Defect Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating the defect lifecycle for various projects within our customers organisation. This role requires an understanding in Atlassian JIRA, QA, excellent problem-solving skills, and a keen eye for detail. You will work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure defects are tracked, managed, and resolved in a timely and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the end-to-end defect lifecycle using JIRA, from identification to resolution, ensuring defects are properly documented, prioritised, and tracked.
2. Collaborate with development, QA, and release operations teams to identify, analyse, and resolve defects in a timely manner.
3. Utilise AWS cloud services to facilitate defect tracking, management, and resolution processes.
4. Maintain defect management processes, ensuring they are efficient, effective, and aligned with industry best practices, suggesting improvements where possible.
5. Conduct regular defect triage meetings to review and prioritise defects, ensuring critical issues are addressed promptly.
6. Provide regular status updates on defect metrics and trends to stakeholders, including senior management.
7. Implement and maintain automated defect tracking and reporting tools to streamline defect management processes.
8. Provide dashboards, workflows and filters to facilitate observability to stakeholders
9. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.

10. Hold a minimum of 2 A-levels or equivalent, Grade A-C
11. Demonstrate and understanding in QA defect management and AWS cloud environment.
12. Basic understanding of AWS services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, RDS and Containers.
13. Working knowledge in JIRA defect tracking tool.
14. Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
15. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
16. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
17. Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Due to the industries we work in, we require all our team to be able to obtain security clearance. To qualify for this, you must be a British passport holder and have lived permanently in the UK for the last 5 years.
