An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified HCPC-registered Healthcare Scientist to join our laboratory team as Quality & Training Manager at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert.
We seek an enthusiastic, dynamic leader to oversee our Quality Management System and Training & Education Programme across all laboratory disciplines, supporting Point of Care services. The role involves leading the Quality and Training Teams and preparing for UKAS inspections.
Qualifications required include an MSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent, IBMS Fellowship / Higher Specialist Diploma, or IBMS Certificates of Expert Practice in Quality / Training. Additional qualifications in Quality or Training are encouraged. Active CPD participation is expected, with support for further study.
The department services the Acute Hospital, Community Hospitals, and General Practices in Forth Valley, covering Microbiology, Pathology, Clinical Chemistry, Haematology/Transfusion, and Point of Care Services. The role involves multidisciplinary responsibilities across all laboratory disciplines, with knowledge of UKAS ISO;15189 (2022) standards being essential.
The Microbiology & Pathology Laboratories are currently UKAS ISO;15189 (2022) accredited, with Clinical Chemistry, Haematology/Transfusion, and PoCT services working towards accreditation.
