Role Responsibilities:
1. Provide Mortgage Lending Decisions for both Residential and Buy to Let mortgages in a timely fashion, avoiding unnecessary documentary requirements, utilising automated valuations, and demonstrating effective pipeline management without compromising consistent and fair customer outcomes.
2. Manage own pipeline of mortgage applications, ensuring that all notes are clear and concise, and communicate effectively with intermediaries regarding application progress.
3. Avoid operational losses by showing strong attention to detail and adhering to Metro Bank Mortgage processes.
4. Demonstrate a full understanding of responsible lending and regulatory requirements relevant to the role. Prioritise effectively to manage multiple underwriting functions.
5. Strive to provide the best customer journey on all mortgage applications, aiming to be a leading player in the specialist mortgage arena through excellent service.
6. Support colleagues within the wider Mortgage teams where help or guidance is needed.
7. Support frontline sales teams in maintaining excellent relationships with intermediaries.
8. Uphold the company's Code of Business Ethics and fulfill responsibilities related to the prevention of financial crime, including money laundering and fraud detection/reporting.
What you will need:
1. Significant knowledge of Residential and Buy to Let mortgage lending, with a keen understanding of current industry trends and regulations.
2. In-depth knowledge of the mortgage intermediary market and understanding of legal requirements surrounding mortgage underwriting.
3. Excellent communication skills and confidence to engage effectively with Business Development Managers and other Mortgage colleagues.
4. Awareness of organised fraud and the systems and controls in place to mitigate such risks.
5. Proactive use of initiative to exceed minimum requirements in tasks.
6. CeMAP qualification is preferable.
