Role location: Sheffield. We may require occasional visits to prospective and active construction sites across the UK.
Role
Hemiko is seeking a highly flexible, self-starting Electrical Engineer with building services design experience to join the design team as a Design Support Engineer (Electrical).
The role is to support the design and growth of heat network infrastructure in the UK.
The position offers significant opportunity to develop a career in a friendly, fast-growing environment and to grow into designing a variety of energy-related systems. The engineer may help own design projects from inception through to operation and will monitor and evaluate feedback from the Operations Team to refine future designs.
Specific Tasks
Participating in the design and delivery of new energy projects during the Pre-construction and Construction phases, working with and supported by the wider Hemiko team. In more detail this will include:
* General & Emergency Lighting design
* Small Power and Data
* Containment
* LV Distribution and single line diagrams
* Automatic fire alarm system
* Production of detailed drawings, reports, calculations and specifications for different RIBA stages
* Surveying and evaluating existing buildings energy systems
* Coordinating the work of others and coordinating with engineers of other disciplines
Candidate
We are looking for an enthusiastic engineer with excellent electrical engineering design, technical, and software skills who enjoys working collaboratively in dynamic multi-professional teams, assisting in all aspects of project delivery from inception to completion to achieve outstanding results.
You should have recent experience in this design area and a keen interest in low carbon energy engineering systems for domestic, commercial and industrial buildings. You should have a keen eye for detail and be technically proficient, with a willingness to move away from conventional design methods toward innovative approaches.
You will join a journey toward an environmentally responsible and effective way of designing energy systems and will work in a free-thinking design environment.
Qualifications/Experience
* Electrical Qualification (BEng or equivalent)
* Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Amtech and Dilaux
* Good knowledge of UK legislation, standards, regulations, guides and best practice
* IT proficient: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, email systems
* Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
* Good organisational, time management and planning abilities
* Creative, inquisitive and problem-solving mindset
* Willingness to question conventional design methods
* Strong desire to learn, develop and progress
* Team player with self-motivation and organisational ability

* Base salary - £37k - £51k
