Health Care Support Worker - Acute medical ward B2
We are looking for a Band 2 Health Care Support Worker to join our 28 bedded Infectious Diseases/General Medicine ward at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. The shift pattern is 11.5 hour shifts worked Monday to Sunday on a day and night rotation. The Health Care Support Worker carries out direct patient care in support of and supervised by a Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities
* Carry out direct patient care in support of and supervised by a Registered Nurse.
* Work as part of a multidisciplinary team with good verbal and written communication skills, literacy and numeracy.
* Meet the requirements of the Band 2 job description including undertaking practice development programmes.
* Be enthusiastic with a can-do attitude and able to work within a friendly ward team; be motivated, keen to learn and ready to embrace change.
* Deliver high standards of care with the personal qualities described in the posting.
Qualifications
* Applicants must have a caring disposition and the ability to work with others as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Good verbal and written communication skills as well as literacy and numeracy skills are essential.
* Applicants must have the ability to fulfil the requirements of the Band 2 job description including undertaking practice development programmes.
