To deliver our ambitious Highways Transformation, we are looking to grow our team of highway engineering professionals and develop talent for the future.
Although your base will be in Stafford, we have highway maintenance teams across the county and offer flexible working options and locations.
Main Responsibilities
* Receive, prioritize, investigate, and respond to non-routine and unplanned enquiries related to highway drainage and other maintenance issues.
* Conduct investigations and apply engineering knowledge to identify and prioritize solutions for highway drainage and maintenance issues.
* Prepare information for contractors, ensuring work complies with contract documentation, maintains good communication, and quality assurance during and after completion.
* Manage project budgets for drainage and minor capital maintenance works, ensuring accurate estimates and value for money, reviewing changes, and supporting capital programming.
* Establish and maintain effective communication with contractors, supply chain partners, County Councillors, customers, and stakeholders.
The Ideal Candidate
* Experience in managing or delivering reactive, routine, and cyclical highway maintenance.
* A degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant discipline.
* Knowledge of statutory obligations, inspection procedures, design standards, and statutory requirements related to highway drainage and maintenance.
* Ability to develop and sustain partnerships for service delivery.
* Strong written, verbal, and digital communication skills, tailored to the audience.
