What you will enjoy doing
Purpose:
To ensure that the correct raw material is supplied to machines in the right quantities at the right time to ensure the production of good quality, safe, hygienic containers to customer specification.
Responsibilities:
1. To ensure that raw material supplies are constant.
2. Ensure material supply is available to the machine before a problem is created on the machine;
3. Every effort must be made to prevent machines running empty, grinders blocking up, material spillage, etc.
4. To make any adjustments that is within the level of competence of the material technician necessitated by changing of material mix.
5. To assist with coordinating and carrying out colour changes on machines in line with production plans.
6. To carry out accurate stock counts on raw materials for month-end reporting.
7. To ensure that the machines, ancillary equipment and the immediate work area are maintained to a high standard of housekeeping and cleanliness at all times.
8. To ensure that all duties are carried out in accordance with quality, hygiene and food and safety policy.
9. To perform any other duties in connection with the job that may from time to time be reasonably required by supervision and which are consistent with the “Purpose of job/mission”, ie absence cover for other technicians or other key staff within the material technician's level of competence.
What makes you great
Experience Required:
10. Previously held a position within a fast-paced production/manufacturing environment with raw material handling/controlling responsibilities
11. Excellent team player and can communicate effectively
12. Knowledge and awareness of health and safety procedures within a manufacturing environment
13. A stand-on truck license would be an advantage (Training will be provided)
