Actisure is our award-winning product which has led us to become a leading worldwide supplier of software to health insurers. It’s an extensive platform consisting of Core back office automation, Open API and integration suite and Digital solutions serving customers and all parties in the insurance value chain.
We’re currently recruiting for a Release Delivery Manager to join our Product Delivery team, someone who understands the software release process and can quickly take ownership of planning, coordinating and delivering new software releases. It’s a transversal role based in the R&D department that requires strong collaboration with all departments including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Your ideal role?
1. Plan and coordinate upgrade and maintenance releases for all applications delivering to multiple clients and projects
2. Own the software release process from development, to testing and then delivery to the customer
3. Work with the Test Lead, Product Owners and the Development Programme Manager to ensure release readiness
4. Identify, manage and mitigate risks and resolve issues regarding release quality and schedule and escalate as required
5. Release incident management; coordinating defect impact analysis, identifying the affected client(s) and arranging maintenance releases as required
6. Produce and update the sprint and release planners
7. Own and develop release documentation for both internal and external consumption
8. Across all processes continually evaluate effectiveness and productivity, looking for both major and minor improvement ideas
9. Understand client release and deployment processes and identify improvement opportunities
10. Evolve the release management processes to support our transition to a modular agile release process
11. Deputise for the Development Programme Manager when required
Profile
Who we are looking for?
It’s more about the person, although we’d ideally like someone with experience in release management, testing, release co-ordination, delivery management, project management or project co-ordination.
12. Someone who understands the lifecycle of Agile Scrum software delivery and knowledge of DevOps methodologies
13. An understanding of branch handling, continuous integration and delivery
14. Have strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities, able to flexibly work under pressure
15. Be able to define, implement and champion best practices and methodologies
16. Have excellent written and verbal communications skills, able to present to and persuade stakeholders, comfortable influencing and challenging colleagues where required
Work Location
17. All team members work in a hybrid manner with time split between home working and our central Bristol office.
Office location and useful info
Our International Division strives to be a non-hierarchical company, with a friendly, can-do culture where challenging work and talent is recognised and rewarded. We employ c.80 employees mostly based out of our office in Bristol, along with some consultants working in locations around the world from home or on client sites. We have recently moved into a brand new office within the Programme building at The Pithay in central Bristol. The office space has been designed and fitted out specifically to our requirements to ensure a highly functional, flexible and comfortable working environment, whether hot-desking, having stand-ups, or more formal/confidential meetings. There’s an NCP car park at the rear of the block and there’s great access to public transport routes with bus stops within a few steps of the building, the train station; Bristol Temple Meads is approx. 10-15 walk. There’s also secure bike storage and excellent showers to freshen up after a bike ride, gym class or run. We’re close to lots of restaurants, coffee shops, gyms and shops as well as being just a short walk from the Castle Park and Harbourside areas. We are a friendly team, with regular social lunch or after-work activities as well as work-related events; town halls or conferences, both in person and online. We have a smart casual dress code.
