Job Description
Interpreting involves listening to, understanding and memorising content in the original source language, then reproducing the speech into the target language with 100% accuracy.
Responsibilities
* Interpret for people using legal, health and local government services
* Check non‑English speakers’ understanding after each sentence
* Conference, consecutive and public service interpreting
* Handle highly confidential information
* Liaise between the service user and service provider
Requirements
* Fluent in English and another language
* Right to work in the UK
* Age 21 or over
* Formal qualifications such as a Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI), Community Interpreting, NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registered is advantageous; a degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages, or any other interpreting‑related qualification.
