Job Summary
As a Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting and guiding young people through their developmental journey. Your primary focus will be to create a safe and engaging environment where youth can thrive, learn, and grow. You will work closely with children and adolescents, providing mentorship, teaching essential life skills, and fostering positive relationships.
Duties
* Develop and implement engaging programmes that cater to the interests and needs of young people.
* Provide one-on-one mentoring and support to youth, helping them navigate personal challenges.
* Facilitate group activities that promote teamwork, communication, and social skills.
* Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure holistic support for each child.
* Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress for each youth participant.
* Create a safe, inclusive environment that encourages participation from all individuals.
* Address behavioural issues with patience and understanding while promoting positive behaviour change.
Requirements
* Proven experience working with children or adolescents in a mentoring or educational capacity.
* Strong teaching skills with the ability to engage young people effectively.
* Background in youth work or special education is highly desirable.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with youth, families, and colleagues.
* Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and resilience in challenging situations.
